In December, 2020 50by40 hosted its inaugural Global Engagement Summit.
The three-day online event was a groundbreaking inaugural meeting of some of the world’s leading experts, advocates and change-makers seeking to positively transform the world’s food systems.
This video captures some of our biggest moments, our keynote speakers and some of our fondest memories of the event.
The Summit included legendary labor rights icon Dolores Huerta, author and food justice advocate Anna Lappé, UN Sustainable Development Advocate and Indigenous People’s activist Hindou Ibrahim, and youth vegan and climate activist, Genesis Butler.
These were four of our biggest names amongst a host of 41 amazing speakers that joined 430 stakeholders across 70 different countries.
The event aimed to both strengthen the global discussion around livestock and map out strategies for 2021 and beyond.
As we strive to bring together a diverse global food community, we hope to look back on the Summit as a key moment of collective transition in our work to bring about tangible food systems change.
